Dear Parent, Whenever you buy a packet of seeds, a new brand of washing powder or an electrical appliance, you always get a sheet of instruction telling you exactly what to do with it or how to use it. Alas, when a baby is born, it does not pop out with a little booklet telling you how best to bring up your child! Every parents knows how difficult and challenging the job of parenting is. Whatever we do, we are never sure whether we are doing the right thing. Every time something goes wrong, we feel guilty and blame ourselves for not being a ‘good enough parent’. Remember that all of us parents can only do our best and this ‘best’ depends on many things. Some things are not easy to change but there is one thing we can do to help ourselves: we can find out more about how children develop and what they really need. In this booklet, you will find a few suggestions and reminders about how you can make things better for yourself and your children. I wish you all the very best, and happy parenting!
