Book Reviews

Whoa!! Awesome book!! Read it today - a great read for any teen, and doesn't take up too much time to read. Has the most wonderful pointers and ideas - AWESOME!! Good on you and Eva for getting it out there!

Something schools should buy in bulk to give to all students studying for exams!!

I especially love how youth looked over the content as well, as mentioned in the acknowledgements.

Overall - absolutely loved it - would definitely recommend to others

WOW, it’s a really wonderful book!

Here is my feedback – hope you can use it.

What I love about the book:

  • Easy to read – big letters is great, even for teenagers.
  • Fun drawings for better and fun learning.
  • Possible to read it in under two hours for a schoolchild – which I think is VERY important – because they are always overloaded with information.
  • Cut to the line –
  • Easy to understand from kids age 11 and up (that’s what I found out when my kids took a look at it)
  • Very good and specific advice on how to prepare for exams, built self esteem and take care of your body to prevent stress.
  • Eye-catching and happy cover
  • Love that there is a lot of lines that will give the child Aha moments!

Can create even much more trust in her readers.

All in all – I adore the book and it’s so well written and the layout is fantastic!

"Stress-Free Exams, well almost" gets right to core of what success is...and how you can achieve it. This is not a get-rich-quick manual that promises you the earth. It contains clear steps that made me look at my life like I had never done before. Before I read this book I was a mess during exam time, anxiety, blanking, revision exhaustion. Ive realised that I was making myself ill unnecesarily just trying to keep up with everyone around me. The exercises gave me a chance to get all my strengths on a page without having to worry about being judged by teachers or friends, and its taught me that Im not the only person "thank god!" with the same issues! For now Im just learning how I learn; something I never got from the aptitude quizzes at school. Thank you Dr Hoffman for giving me my new confidence, and I want to recommend taking a mini-mascot into exams, mine is a fluffy bunny rabbit!!

I opened the book and couldn't put it down till the last page! Thoroughly enjoyable, full of interesting and useful information, an easy and inviting read that will not intimidate even an insecure student! Among the books that deal with the subject of stress-free exams, this one is really unique. For one thing, it draws you in by its tone of warm encouragement and support, the feel it gives you of being "on your side".

The author offers young students tools for self-examination and techniques for addressing some emotional issues, which will be useful not only for preparing for and taking exams, but are sure to help them in their lives beyond the classroom. The book is filled with great tips and simple study techniques students are encouraged to test and choose the ones they will find most effective. I also loved its clear layout that makes it an easy reference tool to return to on a regular basis. The illustrations, ingenious and light-hearted, beautifully illuminate the content.
